Trezor Guide
Where can I find my Trezor xPub?
A guide for finding the extended public key of your Bitcoin account in Trezor Suite.
The extended public key, or XPUB, describes your Bitcoin account. Bitsurance uses it to assign the addresses and balances you want to insure. Private keys or seed words are never transferred.
Trezor Suite shows the public key for each account. The XPUB cannot spend coins, but it can reveal the addresses and transactions of this account.
Show the XPUB in Trezor Suite
- Open the Trezor Suite desktop app or web app.
- Connect and unlock your Trezor.
- Select the Bitcoin account you want to insure with Bitsurance in the left sidebar.
- Open the Details tab.
- Click Show public key.
- Compare the XPUB shown on your Trezor display with the XPUB shown in Trezor Suite.
- Copy the XPUB as text and paste it into the xPub field in the Bitsurance registration flow.
Choose the correct account
Each account type has its own XPUB. If you use multiple Bitcoin accounts or multiple account types, select exactly the account whose coins you want to insure.
Use a SegWit or Native SegWit account. Taproot addresses are currently not supported in the Bitsurance registration flow.
Important: Never share your recovery words, seed phrase, or private keys. An XPUB cannot spend coins, but it is privacy-sensitive because it can be used to track account activity.
